{"id":35471,"date":"2019-11-10T12:12:06","date_gmt":"2019-11-10T11:12:06","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ninainvalentin.si\/izdelek\/milka-chocolates-and-cookies\/"},"modified":"2026-04-11T19:38:02","modified_gmt":"2026-04-11T17:38:02","slug":"milka-chocolates-and-cookies","status":"publish","type":"product","link":"https:\/\/ninainvalentin.si\/en\/product\/milka-chocolates-and-cookies\/","title":{"rendered":"MILKA chocolates and cookies"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On November 17, 1825,\u00a0<a title=\"Switzerland\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Switzerland\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Swiss<\/a>\u00a0chocolatier\u00a0<a title=\"Philippe Suchard\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Philippe_Suchard\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Philippe Suchard<\/a>\u00a0(1797\u20131884) established a\u00a0<a title=\"P\u00e2tisserie\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/P%C3%A2tisserie\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">p\u00e2tisserie<\/a>\u00a0in\u00a0<a title=\"Neuch\u00e2tel\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Neuch%C3%A2tel\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Neuch\u00e2tel<\/a>\u00a0where he sold a hand-made\u00a0<a title=\"Dessert\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Dessert\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">dessert<\/a>,\u00a0<i>chocolat fin de sa fabrique<\/i>.<sup id=\"cite_ref-8\" class=\"reference\"><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Milka#cite_note-8\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">[8]<\/a><\/sup>\u00a0The following year, Suchard expanded his company and moved production to nearby Serri\u00e8res, where he produced 25\u201330\u00a0kg of chocolate daily in a rented former water mill. During the 1890s, milk was added to Suchard&#8217;s chocolate.<sup id=\"cite_ref-9\" class=\"reference\"><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Milka#cite_note-9\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">[9]<\/a><\/sup><\/p>\n<p>In 1901, the first &#8220;Milka&#8221; chocolate was packaged in the famous lilac-colored packaging.<sup id=\"cite_ref-:1_10-0\" class=\"reference\"><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Milka#cite_note-:1-10\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">[10]<\/a><\/sup>\u00a0Their products were introduced in Austria in the 1910s in order to spread popularity, and by 1913 the company was producing 18 times more chocolate than they did when at the original plant in 1880.<sup id=\"cite_ref-:1_10-1\" class=\"reference\"><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Milka#cite_note-:1-10\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">[10]<\/a><\/sup>\u00a0By the 1920s Milka had introduced limited edition themed chocolates. Themes were related around holidays such as Christmas and Easter and had chocolate cast into the shape of Santa Claus, Christmas ornaments, Easter bunnies and various sizes of Easter eggs.<sup id=\"cite_ref-:1_10-2\" class=\"reference\"><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Milka#cite_note-:1-10\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">[10]<\/a><\/sup>\u00a0By the 1960s the Milka script logo and its lilac packaging was trademarked, quickly becoming Germany\u2019s number one chocolate. Milka has sponsored many alpine skiing stars since 1995, including five World and Olympic champions.<sup id=\"cite_ref-:0_7-4\" class=\"reference\"><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Milka#cite_note-:0-7\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">[7]<\/a><\/sup>\u00a0In 2015, Milka used a lilac-colored boat with Lila the mascot on it to tour the rivers of Germany and Austria during the summer.
