The Milka brand was registered on 24 April 1901, and that same year the chocolate was wrapped in purple for the first time. The name Milka combines the German words for milk (MILch) and cocoa (KAkao). Milka reached the German and Austrian markets the same year. In 1922 Milka got a gold logo, and in 1926, thanks to its success, seasonal products followed \u2013 Easter bunnies and Santas. Milka became the leading chocolate maker in Germany. The famous \u201cMilka cow\u201d appeared in 1972, and lilac became Milka\u2019s official colour.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A bouquet of Milka treats.
